Discovering Barcelona

Barcelona is a complete city, rich in culture, art, nature, beaches and good food! Let's discover some of the best things to see and do in the Catalan capital!

1- Visit the Sagrada Família

The Sagrada Família, which attracts the largest crowds in Barcelona. Gaudí's unfinished masterpiece is one of the few UNESCO World Heritage buildings still under construction - it should be completed in 2026, but it is one of the most beautiful construction sites in the world. It is advisable to book tickets online to avoid queues during busy periods. You can get a general admission ticket - but it is worth paying a little extra to climb one of the towers - the view is exceptional.

2- Visit local markets

To get closer to local products, visit La Boqueria off Las Ramblas. This sprawling market is often crowded with tourists, locals and commercial buyers - but negotiating around the maze of stalls is part of the fun: you can pick up food to take away or eat at one of the market stalls.

3- Parc Güell

Barcelona
The view of Barcelona from the Parc Güell may be worth the price of admission on its own. The Palau Güell (1886-1890) was once one of the most beautiful private houses in the world and here you can see Gaudí's innovative ideas about space and light. Strolling through this visionary park designed by Gaudi is a relaxing and stimulating experience not to be missed.

4- Tomato bread

It is a classic among the classics, what a great invention! It is simple but delicious and is part of the Catalan gastronomic identity. The first reference to this union of bread and oil, today something very elementary, dates back to the houses of the Cayes at the end of the 19th century. The secret? A good bread to sprinkle with a little salt in advance. It follows the tomato, which is cut crosswise and rubbed on the bread and olive oil. And why not accompany it with a good raw ham?
