Dishes to try in Turin

In every corner of Italy you can find local delicacies to taste. Here are some Piedmontese dishes that you absolutely cannot miss on your next trip to Turin!

1- Truffle

White or black, truffles are commonly found around Alba. Every autumn an entire truffle festival takes place in the city, where you can choose to buy truffles of all types and sizes. In any Piedmontese restaurant in Turin you will find many truffle dishes, such as the famous truffle risotto.

2- Bagna Cauda

Among all the appetizers of Piedmont, the Bagna Cauda is the most fascinating. The main part of the bagna cauda is the sauce, which is a mixture of anchovies, garlic and milk. The sauce is served with fondue in a large pot with a flame underneath to keep it warm. Then grilled vegetables, usually peppers, celery or fennel, are used to collect the sauce.

3- Barolo

Turin
Barolo is one of the most famous wines of Italy, and comes directly from the vineyards of the Langhe, the picturesque hilly wine region of Piedmont. In Turin you will find it in many restaurants and bars, do not miss the opportunity to taste a glass.

4- Agnolotti

Pasta is abundant in Piedmont, and there is nothing better than a classic dish of agnolotti. Smaller than ravioli, agnolotti are another type of delicious meat-filled pasta commonly found in Turin, Alessandria, Alba and throughout Piedmont. Simply try them with butter, sage and Parmesan cheese (and maybe a little truffle).
