2- Esgarraet

Taking its name from the Valencian word for "ripped," esgarraet is one of the region's favorite dishes, made with strips of dried, salted fish and slices of sweet, roasted red bell pepper. Served with a generous portion of olive oil and bread, it is one of the most popular tapas in the area!

3- Turron

Alicante
Turron is essentially a southern European version of nougat, made with sugar, honey, egg whites and almonds or other nuts. Although traditionally eaten at Christmas, nougat is sold in stores throughout the year. Alicante is famous for this Spanish sweet, specializing in a hard, crumbly version called Turrón de Alicante.

4- Bunuelos

Also known as bunyol in the local dialect, bunuelos are dough balls, sometimes flavored with aniseed, that are fried like small doughnuts. A very popular dessert on the Costa Blanca, try them covered in sugar and dipped in hot chocolate.
