Discovery of Tunis

Take advantage of a trip to Tunis to discover the charm of this Tunisian city where Western and Eastern cultures mingle. We propose you these activities to do in Tunis:

1. Stroll in the Medina

The Medina Tunis is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the historic heart of Tunis. The old city and the new one are separated by a main gate to admire; Bab el Bahr or the gate of the sea, built in 1848. Walk through the narrow streets between mosques, schools and Mausoleums. These small streets are full of splendid Fatimid and Ottoman architecture.

2. Visit the site of Carthage

The remains of ancient Carthage represent the maritime city of the Phoenicians. These ruins located on the Mediterranean coast offer an exceptional panorama. Relive through this ancient site the History of Tunis thanks to its ruins and museums. Also, don't miss the view from the top of the Byrsa hill.

3. See Sidi Bou Said

Sidi Bou Saïd is the coastal district in Andalusian style. It is known thanks to three influential painters; Paul Klee, August Macke and Louis Moilliet. Their canvases capture the spirit of the district with its whitewashed buildings and blue doors that stand out. Here, the cafés are next to the cliffs and you will have a superb view of the coast. This picturesque village full of charm leaves no one indifferent.

4. Taste the baklava

The baklawa is a dessert made of several layers of very thin puff pastry filled with almond and dried fruit, coated with rose water. This cake can be recognised by its triangular shape and the sugar syrup that surrounds it. Careful, it sticks! It is usually found during festivities.
