Discovering Nice

Nice is a city that offers many things to see and do. From the old town to the sea view walks in the nature, here you will find something for every taste! Let's discover Nice!

1- The Cathedral of Nice

Located in the old town, the exterior of this church is quite amazing. A casual visitor to the square in front of it might not even realize that this is the cathedral of the city. Inside is another story, it was built in the 17th century with a sumptuous baroque design, consisting of ten chapels very decorated with sculptures, paintings and gilding.

2- Monastère de Cimiez

This monastery on a hill, north of the center, was founded by the Benedictines in the 19th century. It arrives along the Boulevard de Cimiez, one of the most impressive streets of Nice, with extraordinary hotels and palaces of the 19th century. The Gothic buildings of the monastery date back to the 14th and 15th centuries, with delicate frescoes from the 1500s. But most visitors make the climb for a single purpose: to see the gardens, with flowerbeds, topiaries, geometric lawns, pergolas and a terrace with an incredible view of the city. These gardens are the oldest on the French Riviera, designed in 1546.

3- Promenade des Anglais

Nice
The sea view promenade par excellence: it has been an integral part of the life of the city of Nice since this embankment was built in 1820. The promenade runs for seven kilometers and on the east side is lined with regal 19th century palaces.

Quintessence of Nice street food, the socca is a thin and crispy chickpea dish with a soft interior. It is cooked in a wood-fired oven on a large round steel plate.
