Tips for a journey of discovery in Bali

Bali is one of the most popular travel destinations in the world. "The Island of Gods", as it is called, is a place of great natural and historical charm, rich in culture and spirituality. Here you will find beaches and sea of envy, local traditions to discover and a cuisine full of flavors! Here are some tips for a trip to discover Bali:

1- Spend time with Ubud's monkeys

One of the most special and unique activities you can experience in Bali is a visit to the Monkey Forest, a complex of Hindu temples dating back to the 14th century located in Ubud. Here you can walk in the nature reserve among the temples in the company of more than 500 monkeys! But beware of your objects! Monkeys like to take a few souvenirs from visitors.

2- Bathe in the sacred waters of Tirta Empul

This temple complex is also located near Ubud and consists of a series of pools filled with fountains. The waters here are considered sacred and Hindus from all over Bali come here to bathe. Access is free for everyone, as is bathing in the sacred waters! If you don't want to immerse yourself in the pools you can still admire the beautiful architecture of this place of great spirituality.

The Tegalalang rice paddies are one of the most beautiful places to visit in Bali. A truly unique spectacle: the terraces of the rice paddies take on an undulating shape reminiscent of the sea, a green sea that stretches to the horizon! A place where you can get lost walking for hours!

4- Bebek Betutu

The bebek betutu (Balinese smoked duck), is one of the most famous traditional dishes of the Island of the Gods. Its preparation is a kind of ritual that involves several steps and lasts for hours! The outside of the duck is rubbed and massaged with a mixture of roots, herbs, spices and vegetables - the duck is then stuffed with the rest of the mixture and wrapped in banana or bamboo leaves, coconut bark or in the shell of a palm branch. It is then buried and cooked in the ground very slowly and thoroughly for a period of three to eight hours. It becomes so tender that it melts in your mouth!
