6 things to do in Toulouse
Toulouse attracts visitors from all over the world with its museums that explore the cosmos, history and art. Let's discover 6 things to do in Toulouse.1- Visit the Jacobin Church
This Jacobin convent is a true expression of the Gothic style of southern France. Finished in 1300, it stands out for its imposing dimensions, with a double nave and vaults that reach almost 30 meters. The best part is in the apse, where you can admire the palm tree, a column that culminates with 22 ribs that curve outwards to form the vault. In this church there are also the relics of Thomas Aquinas, one of the great thinkers of the medieval period.
2- Visit the Saint-Raymond Museum
Next to the Basilica of Saint-Sernin is the archaeological museum of Toulouse. Built in 1523, it was once a school for the poorest students of the University of Toulouse. The exhibits range from prehistory to the year 1000 and deal with numerous Mediterranean civilizations, with an emphasis on Gallo-Roman history.
3- Relax at Jardin Japonais

In Compans Cafarelli, a little north of the center, there is a park classified as a French "jardin remarquable". It is a Japanese garden, rather unusual given the latitude of Toulouse, and is inspired by the gardens of Kyoto between the 14th and 16th centuries. The garden is full of symbolism and encourages meditation and rest. Cross the bridge over the pond to the island that represents paradise, and look at the carp and turtles.
4- Discover the space at the Cité de l'Espace
A theme park entirely dedicated to space exploration: here you can spend a whole day exploring the wonders of the cosmos with a series of films and a fascinating planetarium. You can also set foot inside the Mir space station, which orbited the earth from 1986 to 2001 or admire a life-size replica of the European rocket Ariane 5, which has completed more than 70 successful missions since 2003.5- Trip to the Garonne

6- Georges Labit Museum
Georges Labit was a lover of art and artifacts of ancient cultures. He collected many interesting pieces to sell them in his family's department stores. This museum, which exhibits his personal collections from ancient Egypt and East Asia, was set up in 1893 and is located in a huge Renaissance palace on the Canal du Midi. There are three millennia of artifacts to discover, including samurai armour from the Edo period, Coptic art from Egypt and Buddha statues from Afghanistan, India and Burma. The mummies and sarcophagi preserved in Egyptian galleries are the museum's most renowned attractions.Compare now the offers of flights to Toulouse with our search engine!
