6 things to do in Tokyo

An icon of popular culture, Tokyo is a city that never sleeps, so you'll never run out of things to do! Here are 6 things to do on a trip to Tokyo.

1- Have fun at Tokyo Disneyland

Tokyo Disneyland is spread over about 115 acres and is located in Chiba, near Tokyo. The park opened its doors in 1983 and is inspired by the Disneyland parks found in the United States. Disneyland Tokyo consists of several sections and you can spend time enjoying rides in the different areas, making for a fun-filled day!

2- Enjoy the cherry blossom festival

Yasukuni Shrine is one of the best places to come if you're in Tokyo for the cherry blossom season (March to May). You'll be able to see cherry blossoms all over the city, but one of the best places to do so is at Yasukuni Shrine, which is also the home of the Sakura Festival and where you'll find around 600 cherry trees.

3- Visit the Sumo Museum

Tokyo
When you think of Japan, one of the things that often comes to mind is its national sport, Sumo. If you want to learn more about this fascinating sport, the Sumo Museum will be the perfect way to learn more about Sumo (and it's free admission!). The museum is part of the Kokugikan Sumo Stadium in the Ryogoku district, where you'll find a wide range of exhibits such as paintings and prints chronicling the rise of sumo over the centuries.

4- Shopping at Antenna Shops

Antenna Shops are well known all over Japan and some of the most famous ones are located in Tokyo. These stores sell items from all over Japan that have been collected in one place, so you can pick up souvenirs and crafts from faraway places in Japan such as Okinawa and Kyushu. The idea of Antenna Shops is to show the variety of Japan to those who cannot visit other regions of Japan.

5- Walk through Shibuya crossing

Tokyo
Shibuya crossing is one of the most famous places in all of Tokyo and is known to be the main intersection in Tokyo. Hundreds of people pass through it every day, making it an incredible sight if you've never seen so many people in the same place at the same time. You can watch the river of people from the vantage point of the nearby Shibuya Bridge (which is part of Shibuya Station) and that is a great place to take some pictures.

6- Going out in Roppongi

If you're looking for the best place for nightlife in Tokyo, then Roppongi is the place to be! This part of the city is known for its nightlife and here you will find clubs, bars and cabarets. Depending on your preferences and budget, you will be able to find something to suit all tastes here, such as robot exhibitions, shows and sporting events.
