6 things to do in Porto

Porto is a city that cannot really miss in the list of places to see of every traveler. Once you arrive it will be easy to understand why. Here are 6 things to do in Porto:

1- Get on the tram number 22 to tour the centre

It is one of the most picturesque and is usually frequented by tourists. However, the circular route from Rua de Caro to Batahlha is very bucolic. At present there are three tram lines in Porto, all of them with a purely tourist function.

2- Go by boat along the Duero River

Six bridges connect the two banks of the river. The most charming are the ravelos, traditional in the city, which were traditionally used to carry the wine barrels from the vineyards to Vila Nova de Gaia.

3- Enjoy the local gastronomic delights in the charming Pérola do Bolhao

Porto
What was once a ceramics and porcelain shop - to which it owes its striking art nouveau facade full of tiles - is today an establishment where you can find local products of the highest quality: cheeses, sausages, wines from different port cellars...

4- Shopping along Rua Santa Catarina

A pedestrian street in the upper part of the city that starts at Batalha Square. It is the most important commercial area, full of shops, restaurants and cafes.

5- Café in the Majestic

Porto
In Santa Caterina you can find one of the most emblematic cafés in the city, an elegant 1920's café that brought together very illustrious characters from the beginning of the 20th century, when it began to operate. Declared a cultural heritage site by the Portuguese government in 1983, it reopened in 1994.

6- Dive into a pool that flows into the sea

The architect Álvaro Siza was the architect, in 1961, of the saltwater swimming pools das Marés, located on a rocky mass, in front of the Atlantic coast of the town of Matoshinhos.
