Things to do in Malaga

Malaga, the capital of the Costa del Sol, is an ideal destination to enjoy the sun and Spanish culture. Located in the south of Spain, in Andalusia, Malaga is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea and the peaks of the Betic Cordillera. The city therefore offers a wide variety of things to do. Here are a few of them:

1. Visit the Picasso Museum

The museum is a tribute to the city's prodigal son born in 1881. It is a must-see in the city. 11 rooms offer a glimpse of 80 years of work through a rich collection of works. Paintings, sketches, sculptures, ceramics... Note that you can also visit Picasso's birth house in Malaga.

2. Visit Alcazaba

The Alcazaba is a splendid palace-fortress with Arabic architectural influences. Located on a hillside, the Alcazaba of Malaga was built in the 11th century as a fortress palace for the city's Muslim rulers. It is one of the city's best-known tourist attractions.

3. Visit the Museum of Flamenco Art

The Museum of Flamenco Art of the Peña Juan Breva will show you the uniqueness of this dance. Originally from Andalusia, flamenco is a good representation of the city's culture. This museum houses many works of art, paintings, drawings, flamenco dresses and guitars...

4. Visit Gibralfaro Castle

Gibralfaro Castle was built in the 14th century to protect the Alcazaba. It is situated at the top of the hill overlooking the town. From the top of its ramparts, you can enjoy an impressive view of the city and learn more about the history of this fortress.

5. Visit the Cathedral of the Incarnation

The inhabitants call it "La Manquita" (the maimed one), because of the absence of a tower, which gives it a very characteristic singular aspect, as well as one of its façades which is unfinished. It was built in the 16th century for 200 years. Don't miss to walk around and admire its charming patio and beautiful gardens.

6. Enjoy the beaches

Malaga is a city well known for its easy access to the beautiful beaches of the Costa del Sol. This beautiful coastal region of Andalusia boasts miles of beach. It would be a pity not to enjoy them.
