6 things to do in Madrid

There is so much to experience in Madrid that it can be difficult to try to do everything. To make everything a little easier, here are 6 things to do in Madrid:

1- Visit the Royal Palace

One of the most visited places in Madrid, it is worth challenging the crowds to see the impressive Royal Palace. If you don't mind queuing up, you can visit it for free from Monday to Thursday from 4pm to 6pm from October to March, or from 6pm to 8pm from April to September. It is really impressive when seen up close.

2- Sunset at the Temple of Debod

Very close to Plaza de España, this majestic Egyptian temple from the 2nd century A.D. is located in the Park of the Mountain Quarters. Normally you can enter, but even if it is closed, there is no need to worry because from this point you can still see one of the most beautiful sunsets in Madrid.

3- Visit the Prado Museum

Madrid
Four floors of works, 120 rooms, one of the largest art collections in the world!
The Prado preserves the history of European art of the last five centuries with masters such as Goya and Velasquez. Visiting Madrid and not seeing the Prado would be a real shame!

4- Have a relaxing moment in El Capricho

El Capricho is located in Alameda de Osuna and can be reached by metro. The park was created by a number of artists, gardeners and set designers. One of the best kept secrets here is the bunker, the headquarters of the Republican army headquarters of the central region during the Spanish Civil War. Located 15 meters underground, it was able to withstand the bombs.

5- Discover the Crystal Palace of Retiro

Madrid
The metal and glass building of the late 19th century Retiro was inspired by Crystal Palace in London. It was designed as a large greenhouse, but now it is a gallery, exhibiting exhibitions of the Reina Sofía. It is located near the pond and the monument to Alfonso XII. It is best to visit it in the morning, when it is in perfect light conditions.

6- Pedaling through the Rio de Madrid

The Rio de Madrid park, which runs along the Manzanares River, has more than 10 kilometers of lush greenery to explore and a variety of sports and recreational facilities. You can rent a bike directly in the park and ride along the river.

These are just some of the activities available in Madrid. Find your flight to Madrid and discover the others!
