2- Visit the Caldera de Bandama

At the gates of the city there is a natural wonder called the Caldera de Bandama. This volcanic crater and geological wonder is located towards the outer limits of the city. You can then walk down to the bottom of the cauldron 200 meters deep.

3- Discover Pueblo Canario

Las Palmas
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is home to the Pueblo Canario, a facsimile of a traditional Canarian village in the heart of the capital. It hosts free live shows of Canarian folk music every Thursday afternoon and Sunday morning, which can be watched comfortably from a table on the outdoor terrace. The Pueblo Canario also houses the Néstor Museum, one of the city's art galleries.

4- Enjoy the parks

Another activity in Las Palmas is to relax in one of the many parks. In particular, do not miss the Parque de San Telmo which is located between the districts of Arenales and Triana, right in the center of Las Palmas. Take advantage of it to also admire the art deco buildings in the surrounding area.

5- Experience the beaches

Las Palmas
Of course one of the best things to do in Las Palmas is to visit one of its beautiful beaches. Most people head to one of the most beautiful beaches in Spain, Las Canteras. But if you prefer something wilder, visit the rugged El Confital. This beach is famous for surfing, where many important world championships are held, attracting professional surfers from all over the world.

6- Admire the English past

To see Anglo-Saxon influences in the capital of Gran Canaria, go to the Ciudad Jardín. This neighborhood was founded by British residents who dominated the economic life of the region at the end of the 19th century. In this part of the city, you will find many embassies and elegant residential houses set in small gardens, which show various architectural styles.
