6 things to do in Dublin

If you are lucky enough to visit Dublin, there will be countless things to do and see while you are there. Here are some things to do on a trip to Dublin!

1- Party at Temple Bar

Temple Bar is probably one of the most iconic bars in all of Dublin, with tourists from all over the world flocking to its famous walls to have a drink. Although the bar's history dates back to the early 1300s, it still remains popular today thanks to its famous red exterior, its great location in the heart of the city, as well as being a huge part of Dublin's central nightlife scene.

2- Visit the Guinness factory

The Guinness Storehouse is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Ireland. In fact, the interior is designed to look exactly like a pint of Guinness and is known to be the largest pint in the world. A ticket to the Guinness brewery will take you on a tour through seven floors of Irish beer history, where you will learn all about the Guinness family, as well as how the beloved beer is meticulously processed to perfection. At the end of the tour, you will be taken to the Gravity Bar on the 7th floor, where you will enjoy a refreshing pint of Guinness with a 360-degree view of the Dublin skyline.

3- Admire the beauty of St Patrick's Cathedral

Dublin
Known as the largest church in all of Ireland, St Patrick's Cathedral is actually one of two cathedrals built on Dublin soil. However, St. Patcrick's Cathedral still remains the most popular of the two when it comes to tourists. The cathedral was originally founded in 1191 and is rich in over 800 years of Irish history and culture. An architectural wonder, its beauty can be seen both inside and outside. It is also the burial place of Jonathan Swift, author of Gulliver's travels and dean of the cathedral.

4- Have a picnic in Phoenix Park

A huge walled park located about 3 km from downtown Dublin, Phoenix Park is much more than just a park. In fact, in addition to the long expanses of greenery and the multitude of incredible trees and plants, it also houses the Dublin Zoo, a sports field, the Wellington Monument, and both the Presidential Residence and the U.S. Ambassador's Residence. With so many things to do and see, you can easily spend the whole day relaxing.

5- Visit the Church of Christ

Dublin
The second of Dublin's medieval cathedrals, Christ Church Cathedral, is another of Dublin's architectural wonders. More formally known as the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, this fully operational church is the Cathedral of the United Dioceses of Dublin and Glendalough. Although it is open to tourists who wish to admire its Romanesque interior, the cathedral staff charges admission and entrance fees, as the building receives no support from the state. However, the entrance fee is definitely worth paying for the visit and this will help to preserve this beautiful piece of Irish history.

6- Take a trip to the Wicklow Mountains

One of the best day trips out of town - and a must-see during your trip to Dublin - is the Wicklow Mountain Tour. A basic tour costs around €22, covering transport to and from Dublin, along with a short history of the region, a traditional Irish lunch and free time to wander and explore the natural beauty of the land.
