6 things to do on a trip to Bali

Bali is one of the most popular travel destinations in the world. This island, known as the "Island of the Gods", is one of the most fascinating places on the planet. If you are looking for a beach holiday, in Bali you will find heavenly sea and beaches but also much more! So let's discover 6 things to do on a trip to Bali:

1- Dive in Padang Bai

Padang Bai is located east of Bali and is best known for its diving. There are seven different dive sites that can be easily reached after a short boat trip. You will have a good chance to see animal species like sharks and turtles at close quarters!

2- Surfing in Kuta

If you have never surfed before and want to try or are looking for some waves to ride with your board, you can't miss Kuta beach! Here you can rent a board and sign up for a surfing lesson, or just relax watching the sunset and having a drink in one of the most beautiful places on the island.

3- Spend time with Ubud's monkeys

The Monkey Forest is a complex of Hindu temples dating back to the 14th century located in Ubud. The whole area is a nature reserve and you can walk and admire the landscape and photograph the over 500 monkeys living in the complex. You can also buy bananas at the entrance to donate to the monkeys but be careful if you bring sunglasses, handbags or water bottles: these primates are known to be passionate about visitors' objects!

4- Attending a Kecak dance

Bali is famous for its dances and one of them is the Kecak dance: this dance takes its name from the sound emitted by the dancers and is based on the history of the Hindu epic called Ramayana. You will be able to watch Kecak dance performances all over the island, particularly suggestive evening dances!

5- Bathe in the sacred waters of Tirta Empul

This temple complex is located just outside Ubud and consists of a series of pools filled with fountains. The waters here are considered sacred and Hindus from all over Bali come here to bathe. Access to the sacred waters is free and anyone can dive in, otherwise the complex is architecturally very fascinating, to visit anyway!

6- Visit the Provincial Museum of Bali

The Provincial State Museum of Bali exhibits over 10,000 objects. The museum is built in traditional style and presents the characteristic Balinese architecture. Here you will find a surprising array of prehistoric artefacts, as well as works of art and weapons, statues and stones with ancient inscriptions and bronze instruments. Here you can immerse yourself in Balinese history from its deepest roots.

These are just some of the things you can do on this wonderful island. If you are interested, also discover the 4 things to see in Bali and don't miss our tips on the 4 dishes to enjoy in Bali!
