6 things to do in Antalya

Natural wonders, luxurious beaches, mountains and ancient ruins and much more. Let's discover some things to do in Antalya!

1- Visit Perga

The first of some ancient sites to visit is the city of Perga, about 15 kilometers east of Antalya. Perga was inhabited in early 1209 BC, and was ruled by the Persians, the Athenians, Alexander the Great, the Seleucids and then the Romans. Among the excavations of Perga there is much to discover, such as the agora and its intact pillars, the Roman theater, the Roman baths, the necropolis and the great gates of the city.

2- Tünektepe Teleferik

From the port you can take a cable car that climbs 1,700 meters up the 618-meter Tünek Tepe hill wall to a viewpoint with hotel, disco, cafe, revolving restaurant, playground and bazaar of 'traditional crafts. Needless to say, the view is fabulous.

3- Enjoy the beach of Konyaaltı

Konyaalti
Seven kilometers from the edge of the city to the modern port of Antalya, Konyaaltı beach is a mixture of coarse sand and pebbles. From here you can admire the gulf and the Bey Mountains stand out on the horizon.

4- See the Old Port

Walking through the alleys of Kaleiçi is only a matter of time before reaching the old port that gave birth to Antalya. Surrounded by the crenellated walls of the old town, the quays of the port are the starting point for boat trips to places like the Düden waterfall. Walk to the lighthouse at the entrance to the port for a full view of the quays, piers, the rocky coast of Antalya and the strong defensive walls.

5- Relax at Karaalioglu Park

Antalya
To the southwest of the walls and a few steps from Kaleiçi there is a park on the cliffs, overlooking the Gulf of Antalya. Here you can take a pleasant walk, sipping Turkish tea and stopping on the main terrace to see the Mediterranean and the Bey Mountains. Do not miss the fascinating view of the sunset from the park.

6- Visit Aspendos

The city that for a time was the most important in ancient Pamphylia, Aspendos grew up on a plateau, a short distance from the mouth of the Eurymedon, and reached its apogee in the 5th century BC, trading wool, oil and salt across the navigable river. Here stands out the theater of the second century BC, praised for its level of conservation. This monument has a diameter of almost 100 meters and can accommodate 12,000 people!
