4 things to see in Naples

One of the most folkloristic cities in the world. One of the most fascinating, multifaceted and treasure-rich cities. Naples. Let's discover 4 things to see:

1- Maschio Angioino

The Maschio Angioino, so called precisely because it dates back to the Angevin era, is one of the undisputed symbols of the city.  Also called Castel Nuovo, it is a historical building to which are linked many anecdotes and legends and for this reason we suggest you to visit it carving out the necessary time to admire it in its entirety, both from the outside and inside!

2- Rione Sanità

One of the most characteristic and authentic districts of the city. In this area there are two unique and extremely particular places: the Fontanelle Cemetery and the Catacombs of San Gennaro. The Cemetery of the Fontanelle is a real oasis of worship and silence, especially when compared to the chaos and the continuous buzz typical of Neapolitan life. This cemetery was born to collect the remains of the victims of the plague and cholera epidemics of the '600 and '700. Some skulls come venerati from a slice of the Neapolitan people to such a point that among the bones prayers, holy pictures, photographs and rosaries are found. Very famous is the skull that sweats or skull of Donna Concetta. Equally suggestive and inserted among the largest catacombs in Europe, the Catacombs of San Gennaro are underground cemetery areas dating back to the II-III century. Do not miss to discover the history - and the myriad of legends - of San Gennaro.

3- Donn'Anna Palace

Naples
Located in Posillipo, Palazzo Donn'Anna is one of the most enchanting buildings in Naples. After taking a beautiful picture of the panorama, you can walk caressed by the sea breeze and then reach the fishermen's beach of Mergellina and stop there to see the sun set on the horizon.

4- The castles Sant'Elmo and dell'Ovo

Castel Sant'Elmo - from which you can enjoy one of the most beautiful views of Naples - and Castel dell'Ovo are two castles not to be missed when visiting Naples. The latter, a sort of islet-fortress directly connected to the seafront, is the oldest castle in the city and can be accessed for free.
