4 things to see in Budapest

The capital of Hungary is actually composed of 3 cities, with Buda and Óbuda on the western bank of the Danube and Pest on the eastern bank. Let's discover 4 things to see in Budapest!

1- Hungarian Parliament Building

The Hungarian Parliament Building, designed and built in Gothic style, is one of the largest buildings in Hungary and houses hundreds of parliamentary offices. Although the impressive building looks fantastic from every angle, to see the entire building in all its splendor, it is worth seeing it on the other side of the Danube.

2- Margaret Island

Margaret Island is a 2.5 km long island located in the middle of the Danube, full of parks and recreational facilities. A 5.5 km rubber-lined race track surrounds the island, and is a popular jogging spot for runners who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. One of the most famous features of the island is the "fountain of music", from which the water "dances" regularly to classical music. Other noteworthy features of the island are the medieval ruins and the small aviary which is mainly intended for water birds and wild birds.

3- Heroes' Square

Budapest
The Heroes' Square, which marks the end of Andrássy Avenue, houses an iconic monument with depictions of the Seven Heads of the Magyars, believed to have led the Hungarian people from Central Asia to the Carpathian Basin. At the top of the central pillar is the Archangel Gabriel, who holds the Hungarian crown. On either side of the central column are two corresponding colonnades, representing a variety of other Hungarian historical figures.

4- Basilica of St. Stephen

This basilica is one of the most important religious buildings in Hungary, and visitors to the shrine can see the right hand of Stephen, the first king of Hungary. Classical music concerts and organ concerts are held regularly inside the Basilica.
