The most searched and popular airlines
Sun Country Airlines is unusual in the aviation world in that it was started not by a corporation but by a small group of pilots and cabin crew. Their passion for flying led to the creation of the airline in Minneapolis in 1982 and the following year Sun Country made its maiden flight from Sioux Falls to Las Vegas. The airline's main focus has always been flying Minnesotans to warmer destinations during the Winter months and to East and West coast resorts during the Summer. It also operates charter flights to support American troops across the world. For the last six years, Sun Country has been privately owned by the Davis family of Minnesota. This small airline flies approximately 2 million passengers a year.
