Asiana Airlines (OZ/AAR)

ASIANA Airlines was formerly known as Seoul Airlines and is one of the two main operators in South Korea. The airline was established in 1988 as an alternative to Korean Air which until then had been the only operator in the country. Its first flights were domestic routes to Busan and Gwangju. In 1989 chartered flights to Sendai in Japan were added followed by a gradual introduction of scheduled international flights to Asia, Europe and America. ASIANA is also the owner of Air Seoul, its low-cost carrier. The airline is the official sponsor of the South Korean national football team and is heavily involved in other sporting events.
